If you follow British hardcore punk or oi! as some prefer to call it, you've probably noticed the aces of the genre DISCHARGE have released a new album for the first time since 2008. There is hella hype around this album from fans of punk, metal and well known musicians within those genres. If you are a die hard discharge fan, question grave new world AND have been following them for the past 2 years you would've seen on Facebook that they have parted ways with vocalist Rat (also of The Varukers) replacing him with Broken Bones vocalist JJ. As well as the rejoining of the inventor of the D-beat, Tezz Roberts (however he now plays guitar for the band) making discharge a 5 piece band!
They have also recently signed to big time metal label Nuclear Blast! which has for some reason started up controversy and shit talkers.. let's not forget The Ramones produced albums with Phil Spector and the Sex Pistols were signed to EMI, Virgin and Warner Bros. (now fuck off punk police)

Cut to the chase; NEW WORLD ORDER!!
I've been waiting for a spare moment to give a quick review on this album; short, sweet, loud and fast! Just the way hardcore was meant to be. I was stoked that jb hifi stocked this CD however I wish I pre-ordered the shirt and vinyl combo cause I'm a wax nerd..

Anyway! I'm gonna give a short review some quick picks of mine from the album
1. New World Order
This was the first song that was released to the public via the bands Facebook and as soon as I heard this I was so excited! The classic, grimy guitar and bass sound intros the track then an insane D-beat with the drone chorus riff and not to mention JJ'S VOCALS!!!!!!!

4. The Broken Law
This song is interesting, a slow droning intro in a discharge song? that was very unexpected! However it instantly caught my attention. I love the instant distant solos in this song and the rolls in the snare and the more focus on instruments in this song, really shows the "make noise not music" slogan!!

15. Accessories By Molotov part 2
First of all when I saw this as the last track on the pre-order I was fucking stoked this is my favorite discharge song and I was keen as fuck to hear their rework.
First of all when I saw this as the last track on the pre-order I was fucking stoked this is my favorite discharge song and I was keen as fuck to hear their rework.
This version sounding like Motorhead and Discharge fucked and just had a hell of a crazy kid!! Loud blasts from the drums during the intro and a deeper droning riff but still giving just as good as a feel as the original. The song ends with a revisit to the origins of the song giving it a bloody rad finisher, perfect to finish one of the best albums of 2016!
If I had time to write a review of every song I really would! 10/10 album boys still keeping the spirit of some real hardcore fucking punk. And with all the problems that seem to happen daily now, it's nice to have an anti-war, anti-government band such as discharge back to yell their comments over some noise with a big middle finger up to all these issues in the world!
If you love just pure insane loud blasts of fuzzy buzzy noise and bands such as doom, extreme noise terror and so on and haven't already listened to discharge do yourself a favor and buy this fucking album and play it loud on repeat!
