A little bit of info on this; this interview was done mid last year just before EEV came out around all the hype time.

Chad: how was recording?

our anchored hearts: Heading to Sydney was an awesome experience for our first EP, We recorded in a studio called "The Lockup" which is a converted old Police station, with creepy cells too, its located in Sutherland in Southwest Sydney. The week actually turned out to be a very chill time and quite relaxing, the opposite of what we imagined as a gruelling long days in a studio.

Chad: Who recorded the ep?

OAH: Richie Newman and Mark Harris of Buried in Verona were our engineers for our time in Sydney, We also had Mark Matula help with the setup for drum tracking. They are the most down to earth awesome guys, which made the trip so relaxing like we knew them already.
Richie and Mark pushed us each day to try new things, we all have collectively learnt a lot and will definitely be using what we have gained as a basis for us to continue making Our Anchored Hearts even better for the future. The advice and experience they have for both music and getting the word out there is already helping us to be the best we can.

Chad: Whats the name of it? and chuck us some information on it

OAH: Our EP is called "Eternal Empty Vessel" or "EEV" for short, we are still in the process of finalizing the sound we want, but we can say we have five songs in no particular order: Deceiver, Life Changer, Psychophant, Equinox and Outlive.

Chad: Favorite song from the ep?

OAH: Without a doubt its our new track "Equinox"

Chad: When is the planed released?

OAH: We plan to release the OAH EEV EP later this year, so keep your eyes peeled.

Chad: When do guys play next?

OAH: We don't have anything planned as such, just heaps of practice haha, but we have some interesting gigs coming up which we are all looking forward to as a band, keep on the lookout as we will have new events up announced on our facebook page, check it out, be sure to check out our Studio diary too which is on youtube.

Perfect Drug

Today I got me onna dem interviews wif the new commer band playing this up coming tamworth gig. I spoke with Franky Rez from Perfect Drug

Chad: Hi how are you?

Franky Rez: Yeah good man!

Chad: perfect drug, big on nine inch nails?

Franky Rez: Massive fan. Got real into them in my late teens and i’ve just followed them every since.

Chad: what is the perfect drug?

Fanky Rez: life haha

Chad: I heard from word of mouth that this music that will be performed will be “strange” can you describe for me what the music will be like?

Franky Rez: Haha I like that, ‘strange’ haha. It will just be a wall of noise. The songs are a combination of hardcore, emo, industrial, metalcore and grunge, frankensteined together.

Chad: what are some themes of these songs?

Franky Rez: Most of our songs are very dark and heavy themed. We dabble with topics such as mental illness, break ups, suicide and censorship. Drawing upon personal exoeriences we try and devolge into the darker depths of our lives.

Chad: keen for your first gig?

Fanky Rez: Very keen! First time actually playing guitar and doing vocals live so im  a bit nervous but still excited none-the-less
